Hawkins defeated Larissa Chinwah of WMU, 6-2,6-1, at No. 1 singles and teamed up wtih Lisa D'Amelio to defeat Chinwah and Meaghan Colville, 8-3, to help the Eagles upset the Broncos. Hawkins also beat Branka Savic of Northern Illinois, 6-2, 6-2, and teamed up with D'Amelio to defeat Molly Opel and Kris Tiedt of NIU, 8-1 at No. 1 doubles.

Other Notable Performances

Ball State's Libby Gerding remained unbeaten in MAC play with a 7-6(7), 7-5, victory over Bowling Green's Meghan Rhodes at No. 1 singles. She also combined with Melissa Roach for a 9-8(5) win at No. 1 doubles. to help Ball State beat Bowling Green.

Bowling Green's Meghan Rhodes went 1-1 last week at No. 1 singles. She lost her match against Libby Gerding of Ball State, but came back to win against Xavier. Rhodes also split her double matches.

Marshall's Ana Ceretto went 6-0 last week in singles and doubles matches. Ceretto defeated opponents from Akron, Buffalo, and Pittsburgh at No. 1 and No. 2 singles and doubles.

Miami's Janet Baker was 2-0 at No. 3 singles and 2-0 at No. 1 doubles play over the seekend against Buffalo and Akron.

Western Michigan's Nikki Thompson-Douglas went 3-1 over the weekend as she beat Gamarnik of Eastern Michigan, 6-2, 6-2, at No. 4 singles. Thompson-Douglas then extended her singles winning streak to five with a 6-0, 6-2 win over Craig of Toledo. She teamed up with Melanie Remynse to win at No. 2 doubles 8-5 against Toledo.
