Indian Springs, Ohio - Kent State is after a fourth consecutive MAC title after the first day of the 2002 Mid-American Conference Championship. The Golden Flashes lead the field with a score of 301, followed by Ohio (322), Western Michigan (324), Toledo (324), Eastern Michigan (328), Bowling Green (329), Northern Illinois (331) and Ball State (344). KSU's Martina Gillen, Jan Dowling and Gabby Wedding are tied with Toledo's Sara Boogaard after shooting 74. Dowling won the first two MAC titles in 1999 and 2000 before Gillen entered the front in 2001. Eastern Michigan, Bowling Green, Northern Illinois and Ball State start Saturday's second round beginning at 12:30 p.m. at Walden Ponds Golf Course. Kent State, Ohio, Western Michigan and Toledo will comprise the second wave. A final round is schedule to begin tee times at 7:30 a.m. on Sunday.
