MINNEAPOLIS, MINN. (Nov.11, 1999) -- Eastern Michigan, the Mid-American Conference
representative in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA)
women's soccer tournament, ended its season yesterday with a 2-0 loss to
Minnesota in the tournament.
Minnesota scored its first goal at the 25:17 mark and put the game away
at the 65:00 mark with a second goal. The Gophers advanced to play
Nebraska, the fourth-ranked team in the country.
Sarah Willis, the MAC Player of the Year, had 16 saves in the game, but
Minnesota out-shot Eastern Michigan 26-5 in the contest. This is only
the second time all season the Eagles have lost by two or more goals as
they finished their season at 17-4-3.
