The Ohio University Bobcats (16-12, 9-7) clinched a first-round MAC Tournament home game with their 68-65 win over Miami University (11-13, 7-9) Monday night in Athens. Ohio's Shaun Stonerook led the way to victory by scoring 20 points and grabbing a game-high 13 rebounds. For Stonerook, it was his nationally leading 19th double-double of the season. Sanjay Adell contributed 17 points and Patrick Flomo 10. The RedHawks, who led 25-24 at the half, were led by Anthony Taylor's game-high 23 points. Taylor also had six rebounds, four assists and three steals.
Eastern Michigan (14-12, 8-9) stayed alive for a possible first-round MAC Tournament home game with a convincing 93-71 win at home versus Western Michigan (10-16, 6-11). Five Eagles scored in double figures, led by Antonio Gates' game-high 20 points. EMU's C.J. Grantham contributed 20 points, Adam Hess 12 and Avin Howard and Larry Fisher 10 each. WMU received 19 points from John Powell, 17 from Bro Taylor, 11 from Rod Brown and 10 from Tony Barksdale. The loss ended the Broncos' hope of hosting a first-round game.
