MAC Women's Runner of the Week

Rose Lehe
Ball State
Jr. (Wolcott, Ind.,Tri County)
Lehe took home first-place honors at the George Dales Invitational Sept. 23, held in Kalamazoo, Mich. Lehe finished the race with a time of 17:51.88 helping the Cardinals win the meet and defeat Mid-American Conference foes Central Michigan and Western Michigan. This marks Lehe's third-straight victory for BSU this season.

So. (Cincinnati, Ohio, /McNicholas)
Roflow ran to a 10th place finish out of 230 runners at Saturday's 32nd Annual Stanford Cross Country Invitational in Palo Alto, California. She ran the 6,000m race against some of the best runners collegiate runners in the country, crossing the finish line with time of 21:58. She led the Falcons to a 9th place team finish out of 32 scoring teams.

Jen Jezorski
Buffalo
Sr. (Elmira, N.Y., /Elmira SouthSide)
For the third straight week, senior Jen Jezorski led her teammates to a 7th place team finish at the Spiked Shoe invite. She placed 15th overall with a time of 22:34.

Jackie Rivard
Central Michigan
Fr. (Bad Axe, Mich./Ubly)
Rivard, just a freshman, placed fourth overall at the WMU George Dales Invitational. She ran 18:12.45 over the 5k course.

Andrea Maas
Ohio
Jr. (Cincinnati, Ohio /Colerain)
In her second race of the season, Maas, a junior, completely dominated the competition, totaling 48 runners, at the Ohio Invitational to win her second individual title of the season with a time of 18:22, 40 seconds faster than her closest competitor. Her performance topped her previous best time of the season (18:36, Xavier Invitational). This was also her third career individual title.

Dagmara Handzlik
Toledo
Fr. (Bielsho-Biala/Bielsho-Biala Number Four)
Finished 66th out of nearly 300 runners at the University of Minnesota's prestigious Roy Griak Invitational, running the 6k race in 22:33. The Rockets finished 18th out of 33 teams, including a win over #25 North Carolina, in the event which featured many nationally ranked teams. Handzlik continued her strong freshman season, following her fourth place finish at last week's Central Collegiate Invitational (18:34) and second place finish at Bowling Green in the opening race of the year (18:23).


Kristi Powers
Western Michigan
So. (Rockford, Mich Rockford)
Powers led the Broncos to a second-place finish at the George Dales Invitational by setting a new personal record in the 5K of 18:28.97 to finish 5th in the event. The finish was the highest for a WMU runner this season and led the Broncos to their highest team finish of the season.

MAC Men's Runner of the Week
Jeff Powers
Central Michigan
Jr. (Franklin, Ind./Franklin)
Powers finished 13th with a time of 24:32 at the Great American Cross Country Festival in North Carolina, a meet that featured many of the nation's top 25 teams.

Jr. (El Doret, Kenya Chebra, Kansas State University)
Kipchumba was the first Falcon to cross the line at the Stanford Cross Country Invitational Saturday in Palo Alto, California. He placed 41st out of over 230 runners. His time of 24:57 was his fastest 8,000m race since coming to BGSU last fall. He led the Falcons to a 24th place team finish.

Dan Giza
Buffalo
So. (Lancaster, NY, Lancaster)
Giza ran a strong last mile to move up 15 spots and lead his team to a 10th place team finish with a time of 27:28 at the Spiked Shoe invite.
