Bowling Green Christine Chiricosta (tennis)

Christine Chiricosta (Sr. 4.00, adolescent/young adult/secondary education)won a singles flight title as the Falcons opened the season by hosting the BGSU Invitational ... teamed with sophomore Maddy Eccleston for a runner-up finish in doubles play ... had a 5-1 overall record on the weekend, competing at the number-one flight in both singles and doubles ... in her four seasons at BGSU, Chiricosta has posted a singles record of 11-1 in the BGSU Invitational through the years, with three flight titles ... on the weekend, she moved into BGSU's top 10 in overall career wins, with 133 career victories ... she now has totals of 67 singles wins and 66 doubles victories in her career, ranking 14th on the BGSU career singles wins list and tied for 11th on the doubles chart ... Chiricosta is within striking distance of the school records on all three lists ... a two-time ESPN Academic All-America selection, earning the honor in each of the last two seasons.

The MAC Scholar Athlete of the Week honor is presented to a MAC female student-athlete who has a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better and performs well during the week's competition. The winners are selected by a group of the conference's faculty athletic representatives.
