MAC Gymnast of the Week

Sara Burtinsky, Central Michigan, Sr., Oshawa, Ontario
Burtinsky won the all-around in the CMU's dual meet win over Western Michigan, 194.550-192.675. Posted a season-high score of 39.350. Burtinsky won the beam (9.800), tied for first on the vault at 9.850. placed second on the floor (9.850) and tied for third on the bars (9.850).

MAC Specialist of the Week

Jennifer Charlebois, Eastern Michigan, So., Oshawa Ontario
Charlebois was instrumental in leading the Eagles to victory on Saturday. Charlebois finished first on the bars with a career-best score of 9.900, and tied for third on the beam with a 9.725.

Kelli Davis, Ball State
For the week in a row, Davis led the Cardinals in the all-around. On Friday, Davis finished second in the all-around at Kent State with a season-best of 38.800. She has consistently bettered her all-around score in each consecutive meet this season. At Kent, she finished fourth on the beam with a season-best score of 9.700. She finished fifth on the vault with a 9.650, sixth on the floor with a season -best score of 9.800 and tied for seventh on the bars with a 9.650.

Jessica Guyer, Bowling Green
Guyer placed first on the vault (9.775), third on beam (9.725) and fifth on the floor exercise (9.675) in the meet with the Eagles. Her vault score of 9.775 tied her season-high, while leading the Falcons in two of her events.

Jolene Worley, Eastern Michigan
Worley led the Eagles to an impressive victory over Bowling Green by winning the all-around individual title with a 38.875. Worley tied for first on the floor with a 9.875, third on the beam with a 9.725, third on the bars with a score of 9.625, and fifth on the vault with a 9.650.

Carrie Mayle, Kent State
Mayle won the all-around in Kent state's first conference meet of the season. She posted a 38.825 after tying for second on the floor (9.850) and placinf third on the vault (9.650). Mayle also placed fifth on bars (9.675) and seventh on beam (9.550). Mayle is currently tied for 21st nationally on floor with a 9.850 average.

Cherisse Marier, Western Michigan
Marier tied for first on the bars with a score of 9.875. Had the highest score on the team in every event vs. CMU. Scored a 38.775 in the all-around.


Candice Deacon, Bowling Green
In her first collegiate meet of her career, freshman Candice Deacon finished in a tie for first on the beam with a 9.750 in the meet with Eastern Michigan. She also posted a 9.600 on the floor exercise.

Mattie Crawford, Central Michigan
Crawford tied for first on the vault with teammate Sara Burtinsky . The score of 9.850 tied her season high.

Erika Linnersten, Kent State
Linnersten won two events and was 0.025 of a point out of placing on a third event as she led Kent State to season-best scores in every event against Ball State Jan. 28. Linnersten claimed her second bars title of the season with a 9.875 and won beam with a 9.875. She also finished fourth on vault with a 9.725. In three meets this season, Linnersten has won two bars.

Ashlee Williams, Northern Illinois
Williams won the uneven parallel bars with a 9.775 to lead the Huskies to a 48.450 on the uneven parallel bars that bettered No. 15 Michigan State (48.075) during NIU's loss to the Spartans Sunday (Jan. 30).
