The Mid-American Conference announced it's Women's Golfer of the Week today. The award went to Northern Illinois's Lisa Bailey (Decatur, Ill./Warrensburg-Lathem). Bailey led the Northern Illinois University women's golf team in all three of its Spring Break events, finishing among the top 13 in each outing.
Bailey's best tournament finish was a tie for fourth place at the rain-shortened NIU Snowbird Intercollegiate, where she fired a one-round, 4-over-par 76 to finish one shot out of the lead. She opened the week with an impressive 12th-place showing at the 20-team NIU Springlake Intercollegiate in Sebring, FL and shot back-to-back rounds to 78-77 (155). The sophomore paced NIU once again at the Peggy Kirk Bell Invitational, shooting a three-round total of 232 to tie for 13th. She finished the tournament with a 2-over-par 74 for her best round of the spring and second best round of the season. Bailey finished NIU's three tournament, Spring Break trip with an impressive stroke average of 77.1.
