Kait Martin, Ball State, Sr., Fort Wayne, Ind.
Martin turned in a first-place effort in the 200 backstroke (2:10.47) against Big Ten foe Michigan State on Saturday. Martin's 400 freestyle relay clocked in at 3:40.06 and allowed Ball State to finish 1-2 in the event. The relay effort drew the Cardinals to within nine points of the Spartans after BSU had trailed by over 40 points late in the meet. She also helped BSU to 11 first-place finishes in 13 events on Friday against IUPUI (102-11) and Saint Louis (77-36). The senior posted a first-place finish in the 200 back (2:10.08). She also swam in the 200 free relay (1:39.06) and 200 medley relay (1:50.81), both good for first-place finishes. On the season, Martin owns BSU's top times in the 100 back and 200 back, while swimming on three top relay teams.
Kurtis Leer, Ball State, So., Kendallville, Ind.
Leer recorded first-place efforts in the 100 freestyle (47.66) and 200 free (1:43.35) against Michigan State on Saturday. He also helped BSU to a first-place clocking in the 400 free relay (3:09.73). The sophomore helped the Cardinals capture eight of 13 events on Friday, en route to a pair of wins over IUPUI (72-41) and Saint Louis (80-33). Leer swam a leg on BSU's first-place 200 medley relay team (1:37.82). On the season, he has BSU's top times in the 100 free, 200 free, second-best time in the 50 free and has been a member of three top relay foursomes.
Brenda Norris, Akron, Jr., Tallmadge, Ohio
Norris won four events this weekend as the Zips went 7-0, sweeping a dual meet and two quad meets. Saturday morning in the first quad meet, Norris was a member of the winning 400-yard medley relay team that won its race in a time of 3:56.28. She was also victorious in the 50 freestyle (24.22). In the second quad meet of the day, she took first in two events, sweeping the sprint freestyle races. She won the 50 freestyle in 24.24 and took the 100 freestyle in 52.97.
Maria del Mundo, Eastern Michigan, Jr., Corona, N.Y.
Del Mundo remains undefeated in the 200 breaststroke through the first five meets this season as she won that event with a time of 2:21.13 and won the 200 IM with a time of 2:10.33 in EMU's 165-72 win over Cleveland State on Saturday.
Casey Mulholland, Marshall, So., Stone Mountain, Ga.
Mulholland won both the 1-meter (209.47) and the 3-meter (227.55) diving events at the Radford meet on Friday. She won one round of 1-meter (222.7) and placed second in the second round of 1-meter (219.85) at the Wingate meet on Sunday.
Ryan Cowmeadow, Eastern Michigan, Jr., Adrian, Mich.
Cowmeadow swept both diving events on Saturday against Cleveland State, posting a score of 274.28 in the 1-meter event and a score of 284.93 in the 3-meter event, both top scores for the Eagles this season.
