Toledo Kristen Lynn (soccer)

Kristen Lynn (Jr., 3.823, exercise science) scored both of Toledo's goals this weekend in 1-0 wins over Central Michigan and Eastern Michigan to help the Rockets capture at least a share of the MAC regular-season title and secure the top seed in the upcoming conference tournament.

In UT's contest vs. CMU in a clash of the league unbeatens on Friday, Lynn tallied the match's lone goal on a penalty kick in the 58th minute. Lynn calmly stepped up to the free kick and perfectly placed a low shot into the left corner of the CMU net for the match winner at 57:13. The Strongsville, OH native is now 3-of-4 on PKs this season and leads the team in overall points (18) and is tied for first in goals (7).

Against EMU, Lynn provided the match-winning score at the 13:05 mark of the first half to extend UT's unbeaten streak to a program-best 13 consecutive contests. Senior Erin Flynn set up the tally with a perfectly executed flick pass to Lynn, who had snuck in behind the EMU defense. Lynn ran onto the pass and lofted a shot from approximately 10-yards out over the head of Eagles goalie Monique Budani, who had come off her line to try and cut down the angle on the attempt, but Lynn's shot eluded the keeper and fell just inside the far post.

The MAC Scholar Athlete of the Week honor is presented to a MAC male and female student-athlete who has a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better and performs well during the week's competition. The winners are selected by a group of the conference's faculty athletic representatives.
