Nashport, Ohio -- Kent State posted the best round of the day to move one step closer to claiming its 11th straight Mid-American Championship. The Golden Flashes turned in a third-round 312 on the par 72, 6,147-yard Longaberger Golf Club to extend its lead over Eastern Michigan to 29 strokes.
Kent State freshman Mercedes Germino maintained the overall lead for the second day. At 228 (+12), she holds a two-stroke lead over senior teammate Kirby Dreher, who tied for the low round of the day with a three-over, 75.
The final round begins tomorrow at 8:00 a.m. followed by the All-MAC awards presentation.
