MAC Announces First Women's Golfer Of The Week

The Mid-American Conference announced it's Women's Golfer of the Week today. The award went to Toledo's Katie Myos (Faribault, MN/Faribault). Myos registered a pair of Top 10 finishes in first two events of spring at the Golden Panther Championship in Miami, FL and the East/West Rio Verde Collegiate Invitational in Rio Verde, AZ.

The freshman shot a school-record 69 (four-under par) and tied a Toledo school record for the lowest 54-hole total with her six-over par 225 (77-79-69) en route to a third-place finish at FIU's Golden Panther Championship on Feb. 21-22. She also finished in a sixth-place tie at the East/West Rio Verde Collegiate Invitational on Mar. 3-5 with her 14-over par 227 (77-73-77) on Mar.3-5.

Tomlinson started the spring season by placing fifth out of 108 competitors at the East/West Rio Verde Invitational in Rio Verde, Ariz. The junior shot a 54-hole score of 226 (76-72-78) to pace the Bobcats to a fifth-place finish in the 18-team tournament. It marked the fourth top-five finish in five events this year for Tomlinson, who was the highest finisher of any MAC golfer. As a team, Ohio placed well ahead of the other five conference schools competing in the tournament.
