MAC Announces Women's Swimmer Of The Week

The Mid-American Conference announced it's Women's Swimmer of the Week today. The award went to Buffalo senior Jennefer Brankovsky (Toronto, Ontario/Don Mills CI). Brankovsky led a UB comeback against St. Bonaventure, winning three events,the 200 freestyle (1:54.87), the 500 freestyle (5:07.94) and 200 individual medley (2:09.22). Against Siena, she won three different disciplines, the 200 freestyle (1:58.40), the 200 backstroke (2:14.39) and the 100 butterfly (1:00.65).

Erin Johnson, Sophomore, Ball State (Ft. Wayne, Ind./Homestead)
Johnson helped guide the Cardinals to a second-place finish at the Indiana Intercollegiate, earning second in the 100 butterfly (57.72).

Ilse Petersen, Freshman, Ohio (Johannesberg, South Africa)
Peterson recorded first place finishes in the 100 freestle (53.81) and 200 freestyle relay (24.94 split) against YOungstown State and finished first in the 1000 freestyle (10:22.84) and 100 freestyle (53.85) in a dual meet win against defending NCAA DIII national champion Kenyon.

Lindsey Power, Sophomore, Akron (North Royalton, Ohio/North Royalton)
After missing the entire 2003-04 season, Power began the 2004-05 season with a win and a second-place finish for the Zips on Saturday at the Oakland Quad meet. Power won the 3-meter event with a score of 254.70 while finishing second in the 1-meter event with a score of 259.05.
