The Mid-American Conference announced it's Swimmers of the Week today. The awards went to Eastern Michigan's Madeleine Pilchard (Marietta, Ga./George Walton) and Buffalo's Jeff Hurst (Rochester, NY/Greece-Athena). Pilchard picked up her second Swimmer of the Week award of the season after winning three events in EMU's 166-71 win over Denison. The freshman won the 200 yard freestyle in 1:54.09, more than three seconds ahead of the second-place time. She was even more impressive in the 500 freestyle, winning the event in 5:05.06, more than 10 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher (5:15.22). Pilchard finished off the day with a victory in the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:39.75.
Hurst led the Bulls with two individual wins and a was part of a victorious relay squad in UB's 132-61 win over Cansisius. Hurst turned in a 22.01 clocking to win the 50 freestyle and added a victory in the 100 breaststroke in 1:02.55, swimming both events for the first time this season. His 50 freestyle mark is the fastest by a UB swimmer this season. Hurst also swam the anchor leg of UB's winning 400 medley relay (3:37.17).

Bowling tallied two first-place finishes in EMU's win over Denison. The EMU freshman won the 200 yard Individual Medley in 1:56.90, nearly three seconds ahead of the second-place finisher (1:59.46). Bowling followed it up with a first-place finish in the 200 yard backstroke, coming in with a time of 1:56.19.
