MEN'S PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Tim Bradshaw, Western Michigan
Junior - Bromsgrove, England/St. Augustine HS
Bradshaw helped the Broncos improve their winning streak to eight straight matches and four in a row against the Big Ten last weekend. On Saturday, Bradshaw defeated a nationally-ranked singles player for the second time this season by winning 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 over No. 75 Michigan State's No. 78 Nick Rinks at one singles. Despite an upset stomach, Bradshaw came back out the next day against Illinois State and won at both two singles and three doubles. He defeated Alban Renard 6-4, 6-3 to improve to 9-0 in dual singles matches this season and then teamed with Jeff French to win 8-6 in doubles.

Patrick Thompson - Ball State
Senior - Medina, Ohio/Medina Senior HS
Thompson was an integral part of the No. 69 Ball State men's tennis team posting wins over two ranked Big Ten opponents over the weekend. The two wins helped the BSU squad extend its winning streak to seven matches. In a 5-2 victory over No. 71 Purdue, Thompson teamed with fellow senior Matt Baccarani - the duo is ranked No. 4 in the nation - for an 8-6 win over Patrick Rose and Eric Hodgman at the No. 1 doubles position. Thompson then tallied a straight-set 6-3, 7-6 victory over Jarred Leibner at the No. 4 singles slot. In Ball State's 6-1 upset over No. 60 Indiana Sunday, Thompson paired with freshman Joe Vallee to defeat IU's Mak Kendall and Michael McCarthy 8-5 i n the No. 3 doubles position. He then added another singles victory (6-1, 5-7, 12-10) at the No. 4 slot over McCarthy. For the weekend, Thompson went undefeated with a 4-0 record - 2-0 in doubles and 2-0 in singles play.

David Katz - Northern Illinois
Freshman - Glendale, Wisc./Nicolet HS
Katz accounted for the Huskies' lone point against Drake and contributed to a pair of points versus Eastern Illinois. Against Drake, Katz earned a hard-fought three-set victory 6-3, 2-6, 6-2. Against EIU, he was a 7-6, 6-1 straight set winner after having earlier combined will fellow frosh Brian Livingston to earn an 8-4 triumph in the No. 2 doubles position.
