Swimmers of the Week
Ellen Koch, Miami, So., Pittsburgh, Pa.
Koch won two events at the Midwest Classic, leading the RedHawks to the MCC Championship. On day one, Koch topped both the preliminaries and finals of the 200 individual medley, posting a time of 2:09.46 in the championship heat. She also swept the prelims and finals in the 100 butterfly the next day, hitting the wall in 58.07.
Kyle Melling, Miami, Fr., Solon, Ohio
Melling posted a pair of third-place finishes at the Midwest Conference Classic. On the second day of action, Melling won the preliminaries of the 200 breaststroke, before taking third in the finals with a time of 2:12.77. On the meet's final day, he took third in the 400 individual medley, touching the wall in 4:14.39.
