Kent State Remains In Second Place At Golf Championships

INDIAN SPRINGS, Ohio - Round three action at the Mid-American Conference Women's Golf Championship concluded with Kent State still holding the top spot. The Golden Flashes extended their lead to 37-strokes with a third round total of 298. KSU has a team total of 882 for the entire tournament.

Kent State's Tara Delaney remains in top spot after firing a 74 in the third round. Delaney holds a five stroke lead and is even for the tournament with a total score of 216. Ohio's Ana Brown carded a 75 in round three and is five-over par for the tournament with a total of 221. KSU teammates Kira Meixner and Kirby Dreher are currently tied for third place with a total of 222. Meixner shot a 76 in the third round, while Dreher posted a 72.

Ball State took over second place after three players posted rounds in the 70's. The Cardinals posted a team total of 303 in the third round and are at 919 for the tournament. BSU's Katie Sundberg shot a 1-under 71, while teammate Kallie Harrison posted a 75. Julie Harder is currently in tenth place overall after shooting a 77 in the third round.

Toledo dropped to third place an has an overall team total of 921. UT's Tammy Clelland shot a 76 in round three and is seventh overall for the tournament.

Ohio is in fourth place with a three day total of 931, while Western Michigan is in fifth with a total score of 940.

Eastern Michigan's team carded a team total of 314 in the third round and is currently in sixth place, while Northern Illinois had a great round with four of it's golfers shooting in the 70's. The Huskies shot a 302 for the day and are at 942 for the tournament. Bowling Green rounds out the field in eighth with a total team score of 964.
