MAC Gymnast of the Week
Leah Johnson
Northern Illinois

Johnson began her career by tying for first place in the all-around as she matched Illinois-Chicago's Annie Kachman with a 38.725 total. Individually, Johnson was also tied for third on the vault with a 9.750 and placed third for the balance beam with a 9.750 as well. She tied for eighth on floor exercise with a 9.650 and was eighth individually on the uneven parallel bars with a 9.575 total.

Jennifer Sturgis

Sturgis claimed first place for the Broncos on beam after
earning a top score of 9.825 at Michigan State on Jan. 14. The high
score of 9.825 was a personal best for Sturgis. Sturgis placed
first out of 18 gymnasts.

Guyer scored 9.725 on the vault finishing first. She also finished fourth on the floor and fifth on the beam.
Carrie Mayle
Kent State
Sr.(Fremont, Ohio/St. Joseph's Central Catholic)
Mayle led the Flashes to a second place finish at the All-Ohio
Championship. She finshed second with a composite score of 38.325 in the
all-around competition. Mayle also took home the first place crown on
the balance beam with a mark of 9.650, second on vault (9.700), fifth on
bars (9.625) and eleventh on floor 9.350.
