WOMEN'S PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Jenna Nussbaum - Bowling Green
Soph. - Glenview, Ill./Glenbrook South
Nussbaum went 5-1 last week in competition against St. Mary's, Duquesne and Grand Valley State. Against St. Mary's, she fought back to claim a win at No. 2 singles, capturing 7-5 and 1-0 (8) sets after being down after the first set.

Jenna Larson - Akron
Jr. - Bismarck, N.D./Century HS
Larson posted victories in all three of her singles matches last week, guiding the Zips to a 2-1 record at the Prairie View A&M Invitational. All of her wins came at the No. 4 position. In the Zips 6-1 victory over Prairie View A&M on Saturday, Larson downed Michele Scurry 6-1, 6-0. In Friday's 5-2 defeat of Texas Southern she caught Priscilla Cervantes 6-4, 6-2, and in that day's 6-1 loss to Texas A&M Corpus-Christi she bested Lana Burton 6-7 (2), 6-3, 1-0.

Katie Owens - Ball State
Sr. - Puyallup, Wash./Emerald Ridge HS
Owens was 4-0 in two matches last week. She went a perfect 2-0 in singles and 2-0 in doubles versus UT-Martin and Arkansas State. Versus UT-Martin, Owens took down Ernestine Koornhof in straight sets 7-6 (7-4), 6-4 at the No. 5 slot. Additionally, Owens defeated Arkansas State's Karen Saravia, also in straight sets, 6-2, 6-4. Owens paired with sophomore Stephanie Farrar for two wins at the No. 2 doubles position. Versus UT-Martin, the duo defeated De Wet and Garza 9-7 and versus Arkansas State, the pair took down Branker and Silva 8-3. The two singles wins give Owens 15 on the season and the two doubles wins move the duo to nine wins this campaign.

Carrie Jeanmaire - Western Michigan
Jr. - Belvidere, Ill./Belvidere HS
Jeanmaire helped the Broncos to a 1-1 week against No. 2 Notre Dame and Illinois State. Playing at two singles she defeated the Redbirds' Veronique Parke-Bedard 6-1, 7-5 and she also won at one doubles with partner Malena Remynse 8-3.
