Smith went 4-0 at Northeast Duals on Saturday. He won his first two matches by major decision, then pinned American's Jasen Borschoff in 11 seconds to record the third-fastest fall in school history. CMU defeated Appalachian State 30-6, Lehigh 39-0, American 43-3 and Maryland 36-6 for its four victories.

Recorded an 8-0 major decision against Liberty’s Chad Porter and defeated Duke’s Addison Nuding 7-3 before recordings pins against the Cumberlands’ Robert Germaine (2:10) and Oregon’s Zach Frazier (6:59). His lone loss came in Ohio’s final dual of the day, a 7-3 decision to Indiana’s No. 4-ranked Matt Coughlin.
