Female Scholar Athlete of the Week: March 29 - April 4, 2010

Melissa Bott (Jr., 3.75, middle childhood education, Dover, Ohio) In the opening weekend of MAC play, Melissa Bott played in three of BGSU's four contests and started two. On the weekend, Bott pitched 15.0 innings for the Falcons and racked up an impressive 0.93 ERA. In her three appearances, Bott fanned nine batters and allowed only two earned runs. Bott tallied a win-loss record of 2-1 in the first weekend of MAC play. She threw 10 scoreless innings in BGSU's double-header sweep of Central Michigan on Friday and four scoreless innings of the six she pitched against EMU.

The MAC Scholar Athlete of the Week honor is presented to a MAC male and female student-athlete who has a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better and performs well during the week's competition. The winners are selected by a group of the conference's faculty athletic representatives.
