Western Michigan Allyson Doyle (volleyball)
Allyson Doyle (Sr., 4.000, speech pathology/audiology) led Western Michigan volleyball to perfect week, 4-0, of all 3-0 sweeps against 2009 Summit League Tournament champion IPFW, IUPUI, Wright State and DePaul. She led the team with 37 kills (3.08 kps) and .440 attack percentage, along with 58 digs (4.83 dps) and nine blocks (0.75 bps). Doyle set a career high in the first game of the IUPUI Hampton Inn Invitational against the host Jaguars with a .684 attack percentage. She tallied a kill on each of her first nine attempts and finished with 14 kills and 15 digs to move into sole possession of second place at WMU with 37 career kills-digs double-doubles. Doyle had nine kills, hitting .529, with 16 digs, five blocks and five assists in the victory over IPFW. She added eight kills and 20 digs against Wright State and six kills and seven digs against DePaul.
The MAC Scholar Athlete of the Week honor is presented to a MAC male and female student-athlete who has a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better and performs well during the week's competition. The winners are selected by a group of the conference's faculty athletic representatives.
