Eastern Michigan Matt Skirving (baseball)

Matt Skirving (Jr., 3.34, management, Midland, Mich.) in five games this week, Skirving recorded eight hits in 19 at-bats for a battling average of .421, including a pair of doubled and a homerun. He also scored four runs while driving in three for a slugging percentage of .684 and an ob base percentage of .522. His best game came in EMU's home opener Wednesday, March 17, against Michigan State when he was 4-for-5 with a double and a homerun.* Over the weekend, the Eagles' 23-0 victory over the West Virginia University Mountaineers, March 20, was the largest margin of victory versus a Division I opponent in school history. The Eagles claimed a 21-run win over Ball State University on March 7, 1986 and over Trinity on March 22, 1979.
