Female Scholar Athlete of the Week: Dec. 6 - 12
Miami Courtney Osborn (basketball)
Courtney Osborn (So., 3.61, undecided) had an incredible week as she scored a total of 75 points in three wins against top competition for Miami. She shot .636 for the week (28-for-44), including .556 from three-point range (10-for-18). She was a huge distributor, averaging five assists per game. She also led the RedHawks with seven steals. Osborn started the week by leading the team with 26 points against Marshall on Monday. In Miami's win at Indiana on Thursday, she once again put in 26 points. Despite little rest in the first two games, she followed that up with 23 points in the 101-92 win over Cal State Bakersfield on Saturday.
The MAC Scholar Athlete of the Week honor is presented to a MAC male and female student-athlete who has a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better and performs well during the week's competition. The winners are selected by a group of the conference's faculty athletic representatives.
