Bowling Green Melissa Bott (softball)
Melissa Bott (pitcher, Sr., 3.75, middle childhood education) had a 0.95 ERA in 22.0 innings during the week and picked up a win over Mid-American Conference leader Ball State with 9.2 innings of relief. The next day, she came into the game against Ball State in relief in the bottom of the third with Bowling Green trailing 5-0. She proceeded to pitch the next 9.2 innings, allowing one earned run, as the Falcons battled back to tie and eventually win the game on a walk-off home run in the bottom of the 12th. She threw 156 pitches in that contest and scattered 11 Ball State hits, forcing the Cardinals to line into three double plays in the game.

The MAC Scholar Athlete of the Week honor is presented to a MAC male and female student-athlete who has a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better and performs well during the week's competition. The winners are selected by a group of the conference's faculty athletic representatives.
