Marshall University's Sheena Caron (Bolt, W.Va./Liberty HS) was named as the Mid-American Conference Women's Golfer of the week for the third week of the spring season. Caron's 156 placed her third at the El Diablo Lady Herd Classic held at the El Diablo Golf and Country Club in Citrus Springs, Fla. Caron, a freshman, was just two strokes shy of medalist Andrea Werner of Evansville, who won in a playoff over Katie Connelly of Wisconsin. For the first-year Marshall women's golf program, Caron's honor marks the first-ever MAC weekly honor.

Additional nominations: Ball State's Lisa Robertson (Jr., Goshen, Ind,/Goshen HS) placed fifth at the El Diablo Lady Herd Classic with a 160 (85-75), six strokes shy of medalist honors. Robertson's best round of 75 was seven strokes better than her season average of 82 and helped the Cardinals to a second place finish.
