MID-AMERICAN CONFERENCE ANNOUNCES WRESTLER OF THE WEEK

MAC Wrestler of the Week 
Caleb Marsh, Kent State—Junior, Marysville, Ohio 
Kent State junior Caleb Marsh went 4-0 on the weekend, helping Kent State to a fourth place finish at the Virginia Duals.  Marsh defeated two higher ranked opponents, including a 3-2 upset of No. 10 Steve Doty (Virginia).  He earned a 3-1 decision over No. 18 Mike Dessino (Bloomsburg), a convincing 11-4 decision over John Dickson (Virginia Tech) and a 4-0 shutout of Terrell Forbes (Citadel). Marsh improved to 10-5 on the season and 9-3 in duals.

Wally Maziarz, Buffalo—Junior, North Tonawanda, N.Y. 
Buffalo junior Wally Maziarz finished off the Pittsburgh Duals with a record of 3-1 overall after defeating opponents from North Carolina, Seton Hill and Duke. Maziarz dominated his opening match against Jake Crawford of North Carolina as he earned a shutout victory, 3-0. In his next match, Maziarz earned four takedowns en route to a 8-5 victory over Zach Voytek of Seton Hill. Maziarz hung tough in his final match against Duke, pulling out a come-from-behind 2-1 victory. Maziarz now has a 7-2 record at 157 pounds this season, with both losses coming to top-25 wrestlers.
 
Jared Germaine, Eastern Michigan—Senior, Saginaw, Mich. (Saginaw Valley High School) 
Eastern Michigan senior Jared Germaine continued to be perfect in his final season for Eastern Michigan as he went 3-0 at the Pitt Duals.  Germaine finished the afternoon with one pin and two decisions, including a win over No. 10 Nathan Kraisser of UNC. With the wins, Germaine improves to 9-0 overall on the season.
 
Caleb Busson, Northern Illinois—Junior, Wadsworth, Ohio (Wadsworth High School)
Northern Illinois junior Caleb Busson got a big win Friday night at Ohio, pinning Ryan Garringer late in the first period in NIU's 33-9 loss to the Bobcats. Busson's victory was his team-high second in the MAC and seventh overall on the season. It was also his first bonus-point victory in 2013-14.
 
Blaize Cabell, Northern Iowa—Sophomore, Independence, Iowa
Northern Iowa sophomore Blaize Cabell capped off a team victory for Northern Iowa with a major decision win against Adam Robinson of Central Michigan. Despite already securing bonus points, Cabell continued to extend his lead until the last second of his match.  Cabell notched seven takedowns and an escape and riding time sealed a 16-6 win for Cabell. Cabell moved up a weight class this year to fill the spot at heavyweight. With an overall record of 15-8, Cabell is 2-1 in the MAC this season and has a career record of 25-20.
 
Noah Forrider, Ohio—Freshman, Marysville, Ohio (Marysville High School)
Ohio freshman Noah Forrider picked up his 17th win on the year after he defeated Northern Illinois' Tyler Argue by a 7-4 decision. The win served as Forrider's second victory in his last four bouts. Forrider's win gave the Bobcats an early 3-0 lead. Ohio went on to defeated NIU 33-9 Friday night at the Convocation Center. 
 
Alexander Richardson, Old Dominion—Sophomore, Jersey City, N.J. 
Old Dominion sophomore Alexander Richardson completed a 3-0 week at the 2014 Virginia Duals. No. 20-ranked Richardson defeated No. 14-ranked David Habat (Edinboro) by a 5-3 decision. He also defeated Macaulay Maldarelli (Lock Haven) by a 3-2 decision and Preston McCalmon (Arizona State) by a 6-1 decision. The 149-pounder is 16-6 on the season, 2-3 vs. the top-15 and is 8-2 in duals this season.
