Northern Illinois Ranked No. 14 In The BCS Standings

Northern Illinois is coming off a 33-14 win over Western Michigan last Tuesday evening and remain one of three teams in FBS to remain unbeaten.  The Huskies improved to 12-0 overall, 8-0 in Conference play, and have won four consecutive West Division titles.  Northern Illinois is ranked No. 14 in the BCS Standings and is also ranked No. 15 in the Harris Poll, No. 16 in the Associated Press Top 25 Poll and No. 18 in the USA Today Coaches Poll.

Northern Illinois is 12-0 for the first time in school history and completed the first perfect regular season record as an FBS team. The Huskies previous best undefeated mark was a 10-0 record in 1963 when the Huskies won the College Division National Championship. Northern Illinois won its 26th straight game at Huskie Stadium, the longest winning streak by an FBS team in its home stadium.

With its 12th straight win, Northern Illinois tied its school record for longest winning streak and have won 24 of its last 25 games. Northern Illinois also extended its nation-leading conference winning streak to 25 games. Senior quarterback Jordan Lynch improved his record as a starting quarterback to 24-2. He has never lost to a MAC opponent, has never lost a road game and has never lost a game at Huskie Stadium as the Huskies' starting quarterback.
Northern Illinois will play Bowling Green in the Marathon MAC Football Championship game on Friday, Dec. 6 at 8 pm ET from Detroit's Ford Field on ESPN2.
