Women's Golfer of the Week

Jenna Hague, Ball State, Junior
Tournament Name: Hoosier Fall Invitational
Finish in Event: Tied for Sixth
Scores: 217 (77-66-74)
Jenna Hague set the Ball State record for lowest 18-hole round on her way to a tie for sixth place at the Hoosier Fall Invitational. Hague shot a 5-under par 66 in the second round, the best score in program history by three strokes. She finished with a 54-hole total of 217 at Hickory Stick Golf Club, tying teammate Sarah Westaway for sixth on the individual leaderboard. The pair led Ball State to a fourth-place finish in a strong field of 16 teams that included eight of the top 100 in the country. Hague, who has moved into to a tie for 80th in the Golfstat individual national rankings, beat three other top-100 golfers at the Hoosier Invitational. She also helped the Cardinals set the school record for lowest 54-hole score at 888.

Men's Golfer of the Week

Chris Selfridge, Toledo, Junior

Tournament Name: Georgetown Intercollegiate

Finish in Event: Tied Second

Scores: 211 (69-72-70)

Junior Chris Selfridge came within two strokes of defending his individual title on Tuesday at the Georgetown Intercollegiate. Selfridge’s play helped the Rockets tie for fourth place at the par-71, 6,862-yard Members Club course at Four Streams for their best showing of the fall season. Selfridge carded a one-under par 70 in the final round to finish at two-under par 211 (69-72-70).

Jack Sparling, Miami, 

Tournament Name: Georgetown Intercollegiate

Finish in Event: T-12th

Scores: 217 (75-74-68)

He finished in a tie for 12th at the Georgetown Intercollegiate this week at four-over par. That included a round of 68 in the third round, which is the lowest round for any RedHawk this season.


Sathika Ruenreong, Toledo, Sophomore

Tournament Name: Hoosier Invitational

Finish in Event: T-20th

Scores: 223 (75-76-72)

Sophomore Sathika Ruenreong posted UT’s best standing on the individual leaderboard at the Hoosier Invitational by tying for 20th place at 10-over par 223 (75-76-72). She carded Toledo’s best round of the tournament with a one-over par 72 in the final round.

Keegan McKinney, Ball State, Freshman
Tournament Name: Pinetree Intercollegiate
Finish in Event: T-14th
Scores: 221 (72-75-74)
Keegan McKinney posted his best collegiate result for the second week in a row, tying for 14th place at Kennesaw State’s Pinetree Intercollegiate. The freshman was also Ball State’s top finisher for the second straight week after carding a 54-hole score of 5-over par 221. McKinney finished among the top 25 in three events this fall and ended his fall campaign with a team-best 74.89 stroke average.

Ryan Harris, Akron, Sophomore
Tournament Name: Pinetree Intercollegiate
Finish in Event: Tied for Second
Scores: 215 (65-71-79)
Ryan Harris had one of the best performances of his young Akron career at the 2013 Pinetree Intercollegiate. Facing two individuals and seven teams ranked in the Golfstat Top-100, Harris finished tied for second place in helping the Zips close the event in fourth place. On Monday, Harris earned a spot in the Akron record books as he closed the day with a score of 8-under 136. Harris torched the course during round one, posting six birdies, one eagle and one bogey. He followed up the round with a 1-under 71 in the afternoon, posting two birdies and one bogey. Harris’ round of 7-under 65 is the second-lowest round in relation to par in school history, trailing only Blake Sattler’s 8-under 63 on April 2, 2007. Harris’ 65 is tied for the second-lowest aggregate round in school history, tied with two rounds of 65 by Blake Sattler and one by Tim Edwards. His 36-hole score of 8-under 136 is second (par) and tied for third (aggregate), respectively, in Akron golf history. He closed play with a round of 7-over 79 on Tuesday.
