MAC East Player of the Week
Lauren Gellerman, Ohio, C

Lauren had a very strong week for Ohio Softball, leading the team in hits (6), home runs (2), total bases (13), runs scored (3), and slugging percentage (1.083) in the Bobcats’ four games. Gellerman recorded at least one hit in all four of Ohio’s games during the week, registering multiple hits in two of the contests. The senior added to her program-leading home run leading home run total during the week, belting two round-trippers in back-to-back wins over Canisius. Lauren had her best day of the week on Saturday against the Golden Griffins, going 4-5 from the plate, hitting two home runs, driving in two runs, and slugging at a rate of 1.667 or higher in each game. The senior would end the week slugging at a rate of 1.083 while only striking out once in 12 at bats.
MAC East Pitcher of the Week
Paris Imholz, Bowling Green, P
Sophomore, Antioch, Calif./Antioch
Sophomore Paris Imholz recorded two wins this past weekend against Wright State, pushing the Falcons’ winning streak to four games. Imholz held the Raiders scoreless in two appearances over a two-game span, striking out five and carrying a 0.00 ERA over 8.0 innings of play.
MAC West Player of the Week
Taylor Cox, Ball State, 2B
Sophomore, Garden Grove, Calif./Pacifica
In helping guide the Cardinals to a pair of wins last week, sophomore second baseman Taylor Cox continued her strong play from the leadoff spot in the lineup by hitting a team-best .800 (4-for-5) and drawing three walks for a .875 slugging percentage. She also finished the week with three runs scored and an RBI. In the Cardinals victory over Iowa last Monday, who received votes in both national polls and defeated No. 11 Louisville and No. 21 Kentucky last week, Cox went a perfect 3-for-3 and drove in the game-winning run with a RBI single in the bottom of the first innings. She also drew a walk and scored two of the Cardinals runs in the 7-5 victory. In the Cardinals 15-5 victory over Marist in its only game at the Colorado State Spring Tournament, Cox with 1-for-2 with a pair of walks and a run scored.
MAC West Pitcher of the Week
Nicole Steinbach, Ball State, P
Freshman, Merrillville, Ind./Andrean
Freshman pitcher Nicole Steinbach picked up her second save of the season Monday when she limited Iowa, who received votes in both national polls and defeated No. 11 Louisville and No. 21 Kentucky last week, to just one hit and an unearned run in 2.2 innings of work. She also struck out two batters in the game.
Emma Johnson, Kent State, P
Sophomore, Groveport, Ohio/Groveport Madison
Sophomore ace Emma Johnson earned her seventh victory of the season in a 4-3 win over host Radford at the Radford Invitational on Saturday. Johnson recorded six strikeouts and a 1.14 WHIP in the complete game victory for the Golden Flashes.
Kim Kirkpatrick, Kent State, OF
Sophomore, Olmsted Falls, Ohio/Olmsted Falls
Sophomore Kim Kirkpatrick went 3-for-4 and scored the decisive run in Kent State’s 4-3 win over Radford on Saturday. Kirkpatrick got the offense going with a leadoff single to help the Golden Flashes score twice in the first inning. After reaching on an error in the second inning, Kirkpatrick came around and scored what proved to be the winning run. She added a double in the fourth inning.

Sophomore, Pasadena Texas/Pasadena Memorial
Lauren had a strong week for the Bobcats, posting a 1-1 record inside the pitching circle in three appearances. The sophomore led the team in innings pitched (11.0), appearances (3), complete games (1), shutouts (1), and earned-run average (3.18). McClary picked up her fourth complete game of the season (third shutout) against Canisius on Saturday, going the full seven innings while allowing just six hits and zero earned runs. Her WHIP during this game was an impressive 1.00. McClary showed great control throughout the week, striking out eight batters while walking just two.
