Kent State
Rob Senderoff- (Opening Statement)- “It was a great game and Buffalo played really well and really hard.  I couldn’t be prouder of the way how our kids responded.  I thought our first half showed a ton of jitters and it really didn’t play the way we had played since February.  It actually showed how we play in early January when we weren’t playing real well.”
Chris Evans- (On stepping up in the second half)- “Coach Senderoff, when he calls my number, told me to not settle in the first half.  I was settling for jumpers too early in the shot clock.  I definitely had that mindset to attack the rim.  I was able to get in the lane and finish, create plays for others as well.  I definitely had the mindset to attack the rim in the second half.”
Randal Holt- (On closing the game out in crunch time)- “I just think that’s our will to win.  At the end of the day we get tired of losing, especially games that we had where we should’ve won.  Chris (Evans) coming through for us down the stretch has been great for us and to keep doing that.  I just try to lead by example with my voice in the huddles and lead our team.”
Coach Witherspoon (opening statement) - “I thought it was obviously a hard-fought type contest. We didn’t rebound the ball like we would normally do and like we would want to. We took care of the basketball, obviously there were a few shots we’d like to have, there’s a few possessions we’d like to have, but I’m really proud of the effort of our guys they’ve put out all season. I think there’s very few people when the conference season started that would have thought we would be in this position, but I’m proud of the effort from my guys.”
Tony Watson (on the season and being a leader for his team) - Obviously our season has had a lot of ups and downs, but when it was time come out and play, my guys gave 110% and I couldn’t ask for anything more.”
Javon McCrea (comment on Evans taking over for Kent State in the last few minutes) - Kent State has a lot of great players , we did our best to try and stop them but they were able to make one more bucket than we were.”
