Women's Swimming and Diving Championships Day One Recap

Day 1 Final Results 

Buffalo, NY - After one day of action, Miami sits atop the eight-team pool with 191 points while Ohio follows closely in second with 172 points.

Host team Buffalo took the first win of the evening in the 200 free relay with a final time of 1:30.46, a time that was just miliseconds from breaking last seasons MAC Championship record. 

UB senior Mallory Morrell broke MAC Championship, MAC meet, Buffalo and her personal pool records as the fastest qualifier in winning Thursday's 50-yard freestyle in 22.24 seconds. 

Eastern Michigan's Briana Emig won the 500-yard freestyle in 4:46.17. Eastern Michigan divers Danielle Hulvey and Kelly Hendricks finished one-two in the one-meter springboard competition. Hulvey set the MAC and MAC meet records with a six-dive total of 316.10. 

Ball State won the final race of the night with a 3:38.86 in the 400-yard medley relay. 

Day two begins at 11 a.m. with preliminary heats in the 400 Individual Medley, 100 Yard Butterfly, 200 Yard Freestyle, 100 Breaststroke and Backstroke and 3-Meter Diving events.
