• Akron extended its winning streak to 13 games with an 86-72 win over Ohio on national television on Saturday. The streak is the longest active streak in the nation. Akron’s 8-0 start is the best in program history since joining the MAC during the 1992-93 campaign. The 8-0 start is the first by any team in the league since 1995-96 (Eastern Michigan). During their 13-game winning streak, the Zips are out-scoring their opponents by 15.5 points/game and hold a +10.7 rebounding advantage. UA is shooting 46.4 percent and has held at least a share of the lead for 430:36 out of the last 520:00 minutes (82.8 percent)... Central Michigan enters tonight’s contest with a 9-12 overall record and a 2-6 mark in MAC play. The Chippewas have lost four-straight games and are 1-7 overall in true road games.
