Miami QB Zac Dysert, Central Michigan OL Eric Fisher and Kent State OL Brian Winters to play in the 2013 Senior Bowl

Mobile, Ala. - The Mid-American Conference will have three student-athletes representing the conference this Saturday, Jan. 26  in the Senior Bowl at Ladd-Peebles Stadium and televised by the NFL Network.  Miami quarterback Zac Dysert, Central Michigan offensive tackle Eric Fisher and Kent State offensive lineman Brian Winters will participate in the annual college all-star football game.

Miami University's record-setting quarterback Zac Dysert is the 15th Miami player and the first since 2005 to earn an invitation to the nation's most unique football game and football's premier senior showcase event. The Senior Bowl annually features the country's best senior collegiate football players and top NFL draft prospects on teams representing the North and South that will be coached by the coaching staffs of the Detroit Lions and the Oakland Raiders.

Miami's all-star signal-caller, who finished his career with 12,013 yards-ranking 20th on the NCAA's all-time FBS list-joins fellow QBs Mike Glennon of North Carolina State, Landry Jones of Oklahoma, EJ Manual of Florida State, Ryan Nassib of Syracuse and Tyler Wilson of Arkansas.

Dysert threw for 3,483 yards and 25 touchdowns in 2012, completing 62.9 percent of his passes and averaging 290 yards per game. He broke Miami's career passing yardage record, previously held by Ben Roethlisberger.

Fisher was a mainstay up front for Central Michigan this season, starting all 13 games at left tackle. He anchored a line that helped the Chippewa offense average 6.2 yards per play, second best in the MAC, and produce nearly 400 yards of offense per game. Central Michigan allowed just 18 sacks in 13 games in 2012, which ranks in the top 20 nationally. For his standout season, Fisher earned All-America recognition from SI.com (second team) and the Associated Press (third team) and was named First Team All-MAC by the conference and Phil Steele.

Widely considered to the top senior left tackle in the nation, Fisher was also selected to the inaugural Senior Bowl All-Futures Team, an honor presented to the nation’s top seniors based on their college careers and NFL future.

Winters, a native of Hudson, Ohio, was a three-time All-Mid-American Conference selection, earning first team honors this past season.  Winters will be just the second Kent State player ever to compete in the Senior Bowl.  He follows another offensive lineman, Bob Hallen, who played in the 1998 Senior Bowl.  The Golden Flashes are coming off an unprecedented 11-win season, going 8-0 in Mid-American Conference play.

The Senior Bowl is the nation’s most unique football game and football’s premier pre-draft event, annually featuring the country’s best senior collegiate football stars and top NFL draft prospects on teams representing the North and South, which are coached by the entire coaching staffs from two National Football League teams. Senior Bowl practices are also attended by over 800 general managers, head coaches, assistant coaches, scouts and other front office personnel from the 32 National Football League teams.
