WMU's Iris Campbell Named Female Scholar Athlete of the Week

Female Scholar Athlete of the Week: December 31 – January 6, 2013

Western Michigan University Iris Campbell (Track and Field)

Iris Campbell (Sprints and Jumps, Senior, 3.63, Nursing) finished this weekend with 17 points in WMU’s win over Toledo in the Ice Breaker dual meet.  She finished first in the high jump by reaching five feet, four inches.  Campbell also took first place in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.88 seconds and first in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.30.   In the long jump, Campbell took third place with a distance of 17 feet, 10 inches.  
The MAC Scholar Athlete of the Week honor is presented to a MAC male and female student-athlete who has a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better and performs well during the week’s competition. The winners are selected by a group of the conference’s faculty athletic representatives.
