• Akron is coming off an 82-77 overtime win over Middle Tennessee at home on Dec. 2. It was UA’s third overtime game in six contests this season. Akron has four players scoring in double figures and six averaging 8.0 points per game or better, including Alex Abreu (12.2), Zeke Marshall (12.0), Brian Walsh (11.5), Jake Kretzer (10.3), Chauncey Gilliam (9.5) and Demetrius “Tree” Treadwell (8.7). In games through Dec. 6, the Zips are the only team in the MAC with four players scoring in double figures and six players averaging at least 8.0 ppg.Marshall has now blocked at least five shots in three-straight games and in four of the last five contests (five against Middle Tennessee).

• The Golden Flashes are looking to snap a two game losing streak following a 76-60 loss at Bucknell on Tuesday night. After entering Tuesday’s game averaging a combined 33.2 points per game, Bucknell limited Kent State’s senior duo of Chris Evans (five points) and Randal Holt (six points) to a season low 11 points. The duo is key to the  Golden Flashes success having accounted for 43 percent of the offensive production this year.  Evans leads Kent State in points (16.7 ppg), rebounds (7.2 rpg), steals (2.4 spg) and blocked shots (0.8 bpg)
