Updated 6/21/2012
CLEVELAND - The Mid-American Conference announced its 2012 Men's Outdoor Track and Field Academic All-MAC team Tuesday, as voted on by faculty athletic representatives at MAC institutions. A total of 26 student-athletes were named to the team.

Akron’s Eric Hubbard is the only repeat winner from the 2011 Outdoor Men’s academic team.  Hubbard is joined by 2012 outdoor champion, Terefe Ejigu of Eastern Michigan, who was the 2012 Outdoor most outstanding performer and winner of the 5000 and 10000.  Second team All-MAC members to make the squad included Buffalo’s Andre Britton, Central Michigan’s Cory Noeker, Eastern Michigan’s Harry Dixon, Grezegorz Kalinowski and Daryl Smith, Kent State’s Brian Florek, and Miami’s Jordan Goffena.

The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50% of the contests for that particular sport. First-year students and junior college transfers in their first year of residence are not eligible for the award.
