AVON, Ohio – Kent State’s senior class completed the sweep, winning their fourth MAC Tournament title in as many years on Saturday afternoon, 3-1, over Central Michigan.  For the seniors of the Golden Flashes, it is the first time in MAC history that a school has won four consecutive tournament titles.

Tournament MVP, David Starn, relieved Ryan Mace in the fifth inning, and threw three scoreless innings only allowing one hit.  Over the course of the tournament, Starn went 2-0, only allowed three hits during his 11.0 innings, not allowing a run.

Trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the fourth with two on and one out, T.J. Sutton lifted a curling ball down the right field line that one hopped into the stands bringing in two runs.

For Central Michigan, Patrick Kaminska, Ryan Longstreth and Sean Renzi, held the Golden Flashes to their lowest run total of the tournament, only allowing three runs.

Central Michigan finishes their season after advancing to the championship game by surviving through four elimination games, following a loss on the first day.

Kent State will now have to wait until Monday night when the NCAA announces where they will be playing in their NCAA Regional round.
