AVON, Ohio – Miami’s Mac Thoreson and Eastern Michigan’s Steve Weber went pitch for pitch in the final game Thursday night, as the pitchers combined for 19.0 innings in the 2-1 Miami win.  Thoreson threw nine strong for the win, only allowing two hits to Eastern Michigan and walking only one.  Thoreson, who threw 66% of his 114 pitches for strikes, struck out six on the night.

Thoreson turned the ball over in the 10th after Kevin Bower drove in the go-ahead run on a two-out single.   Matt Rosinski came in to work a perfect 10th for the save, striking out two.

Steve Weber was equally as impressive in the loss, throwing the complete 10 inning game, allowing ten hits and two walks, and forcing Miami to leave nine stranded on the base-paths.

Miami will play the winner of Eastern Michigan and Central Michigan tomorrow night at 7:30 PM.  EMU and CMU will face off in an elimination game at 12:30 PM.
