Western Michigan had its entire starting five score in double figures
and was led by Shelsea Erving's 23 points as the Broncos won their fifth
straight game, an 85-69 win at Miami on Feb. 14.
The win for WMU (15-9,
12-1), which also claimed its seventh straight league game, secured the
West Division title and moved a half game ahead of Kent for the No. 1
seed at the MAC Tournament.
In addition to Erving's game-high 23 points, Danielle Mueller had 20
points and 13 rebounds and freshman Kristin Koetsier had 16 points and
pulled down 10 rebounds. Also netting double figures in points for the
Broncos was Dionne Lassila (11) and Brianne Gallert (10).
Miami (13-9, 7-5), which dropped its second straight game, was paced by
Heather Cusick's 20 points and Hollie Nelsen's 14.
