Seven Mid-American Conference women's tennis student-athletes earned first-team Academic
All-MAC selection in voting conducted by Mid-American Conference Faculty Athletic Representatives. Overall,
fifteen student-athletes earned either first-team or honorable mention on the All-Academic squad.
Hillary Schaffer of Western Michigan and
Alysssa Bengel of Marshall were the top vote-getters and
are joined on the first team by Simone
Duhme from Eastern Michigan, Kelly
Peller of Marshall, Miami's Natalia
Soetrisno, and Anna Widen and Katy
Hoffman of Northern Illinois.
The student-athletes receiving honorable mention academic all conference honors are:
Becky Schrager, Akron; Gena
Tranquada, Ball State; Abby Bratton,
Meghan Rhodes, and Beth Wilson, Bowling
Green; April Kiser, Buffalo; Carrie
Townsend, Northern Illinois; and Natasa
Gligoric, Toledo.
Academic All-Mid-American Conference honorees are student-athletes who have excelled in academics
and athletics. To qualify a student-athlete must have at least a 3.0 grade point average during his or her
college career and be a starter or top reserve during the just-completed season.
