CLEVELAND, Ohio (Nov. 6, 2000) -- Toledo running back Chester Taylor,
Miami linebacker Terrell Jones and Marshall punt return specialist Maurice
Hines, were honored as this week's Mid-American Conference Players of the
Week for the tenth week of the season.
MAC Offensive Player of the Week
Toledo running back Chester Taylor (Sr., River Rouge, Mich.)
Taylor rushed for a career-high 230 yards and two touchdowns on 30 carries in a
38-24 win at Northern Illinois. His second score was a 73-yarder, the longest run
of his career, that gave UT a 28-24 lead just before halftime. Taylor became the
second running back in UT history to gain over 1,000 yards in two seasons. His
1,175 yards this season is one yard shy of his 1999 total.

MAC Defensive Player of the Week
Miami middle linebacker Terrell Jones (Fr., St. Louis, Mo.)
Jones finished Miami's 27-24 win over Ohio with a career-high 23 tackles, including two
sacks and a forced fumble. The forced fumble came in the final seconds when Ohio was
trying to move into field goal range and force a tie. Jones totaled 16 solo tackles and
seven assisted tackles in holding the Bobcats, a team which had averaged 46 points per
game its previous three games, to just 24 points.

2 forced fumbles); Kent State LB Matt Rayl (15 tackles, 5 tfl -18 yds., 2 sacks -

MAC Special Teams Player of the Week
Marshall punt return specialist Maurice Hines (Sr., East Point, Ga.)
Hines' 60-yard punt return for a touchdown with 2:45 left in the fourth quarter gave Marshall a
20-13 win at Bowling Green. Hines' score climaxed the Herd's comeback from a 13-0 deficit. It
was the first Marshall punt return for a touchdown since 1998.
