CLEVELAND, OHIO (Aug. 7) - Central Michigan University won its fourth MAC Institutional Academic Achievement Award in as many years. The honor is presented to the Mid-American Conference member that has the highest overall institutional grade-point average for student athletes competing in MAC sponsored sports.
CMU is the only school to win the award four times in a row. Bowling Green earned the honor in 1995 and 1996. CMU won the award outright in 1998 and tied for first place with Ball State in 1997. A complete list of each school's student-athlete GPA follows:
