Miami To Face Bowling Green In MAC Women's Soccer Final Sunday

    BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Sunday's schedule for Mid-American Conference soccer action at the University at Buffalo is set following five games on Friday. Buffalo is hosting the quarterfinals and semifinals of the men's conference tournament and the semifinals and championship for the women's tournament.

    The women's tournament will play the conference championship game at 11 a.m. on Sunday, November 3. Fourth-seeded Miami advanced to the championship game for the second straight year by defeating the top seed and host Buffalo Bulls 2-0 on Friday. The RedHawks will face seventh-seeded Bowling Green, which advanced by defeating sixth-seeded Western Michigan 2-1 Friday afternoon.

    On the men's side, the UB men's team upset third-seeded Akron 2-1 Friday night. The Bulls advance to the semifinals where they will face number-one seed Bowling Green, who had a first round bye, at 2:30 p.m. In the other semifinal game, second-seeded Marshall will face fourth-seeded Kentucky.

    Both teams squeaked out one-goal wins in the quarterfinals, Marshall a 2-1 double overtime win over Western Michigan and Kentucky a 1-0 win over Northern Illinois. The second men's game will take place at 4:30 p.m.
