Ball State Defeats Eastern Michigan, 33-14

MUNCIE, Ind. (AP)(Oct. 14) - Anthony Jones ran for 72 yards and two touchdowns Oct. 14 to lead Ball State to a 33-14 win over Eastern Michigan.

The Cardinal defense held Eastern Michigan from scoring until the fourth quarter. Ball State (2-4, 2-1 Mid-American Conference) had a 19-0 lead at the end of the third.

The win was the second in a row for the Cardinals after 21 straight losses.

The Eagles (1-6, 0-3) got on the board early in the fourth on a 19-yard pass from Walter Church to Kenny Christian. Church was 18-of-36 for 258 yards.

Ball State quarterback Talmadge Hill passed for 97 yards and one touchdown.
