Marshall University men's golf coach Joe Feaganes has been named team leader for the 2000 US-Japan Matches. The matches, in their 25th year, will be played June
25-July 1 at Rancho Murietta, California. The US team won the competition last year.
Feaganes currently serves as the vice president of the Golf Coaches Association of America, based in Orlando, Florida. Feaganes also coached the US Team in the
1985 Matches that were played in Tokyo.
"I am very pleased for the opportunity to serve as team leader for the US team competing in this year's US-Japan Matches," Feaganes said. "I am hopeful we can
continue the success we have had in the past."
Robert Linville, the 1999 GCAA Coach of the Year, was selected as the coach of the US Team. Linville is the head men's golf coach at Greensboro College in
Greensboro, North Carolina. His team won the 2000 NCAA Division III championship.
