CMU's Pieratt Named Third-Team GTE Academic All-American

MOUNT PLEASANT -- Central Michigan University baseball player Scott Pieratt (Mount Pleasant/Sr.) has been named to the GTE Academic All-America Baseball Third Team.

Pieratt, who has a 3.50 grade point average in elementary education, hit .401 with 45 RBI and 12 home runs during the 2000 season. He was named to the All-Mid-American Conference first team for his efforts.

Pieratt helped the Chippewas to an 18-8 MAC record and a share of the West Division title as CMU ended the season with a 41-17 slate.
