ATHENS, Ohio (AP) (October 7, 2000) -- Chad Brinker rushed for two touchdowns and Raynald Ray ran for a score and caught a touchdown pass as Ohio beat Buffalo 42-20
Brinker scored on runs of 5 and 1 yards in the third quarter as the Bobcats (3-3, 1-2 Mid-American Conference) scored five consecutive touchdowns to take a
42-7 lead in the fourth quarter. Brinker had 15 rushes for 73 yards.
Ray scored on a 20-yard run in the second quarter and on a 39-yard catch from backup quarterback Freddie Ray in the fourth quarter.
Bobcats quarterback Dontrell Jackson rushed 14 times for 139 yards and threw a 40-yard touchdown pass to Joe Mohler to open the scoring.
Buffalo (1-5, 1-2) tied the game in the first quarter on a 61-yard touchdown pass from Joe Freedy to Andre Forde.
Freedy was 17-of-31 for 262 yards and two touchdowns, the second a 6-yard toss to Theron Walker for the final score.
Marquis Dwarte rushed for 87 yards on 18 carries and Albert Grundy had a 4-yard scoring run for the Bulls. Forde had three catches for 85 yards.
