YPSILANTI, Mich. (AP) (Sept. 30, 2000) -- Ryan Schneider threw two touchdown passes
and ran for another
as Central Florida defeated Eastern Michigan 31-10 on Sept. 30.
Schneider completed 27 of 38 passes for 365 yards for the Golden Knights (3-2).
Tyson Hinshaw caught 12 of those passes for 206 yards, including an 18-yard
TD pass with 37 seconds left before halftime.
Corey Baker carried 17 times for 87 yards and a 1-yard touchdown run in the
fourth quarter for Central Florida, and caught a 10-yard TD pass from Schneider
that opened the scoring with 7:28 left in the first quarter.
The Eagles (1-4) managed 280 yards of total offense but just 30 on the ground.
John White carried 20 times for 60 yards, but quarterback Walter Church lost 32
yards on three sacks.
Central Florida allowed only a 28-yard field goal by Toller Starnes early in the
second quarter and Church's 1-yard TD pass to Matt Kelly with 4:03 left to play.
The Golden Eagles had to punt only once, made 5 of 10 third-down conversions and
finished with 501 yards of total offense.
