TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) (September 16, 2000) -- Chester Taylor gained 156 yards on 32 carries and scored
Toledo's only offensive touchdown as the Rockets beat Eastern Illinois 31-26
on Saturday night.
Taylor caught a 15-yard touchdown pass from Tavares Bolden with 25 seconds left in
the third quarter to give Toledo (2-1) a 25-17 lead.
Kevin Rollins scored on a 33-yard interception return, and Todd France kicked
field goals of 29, 36, 31, 34 and 26 yards.
Eastern Illinois' Tony Romo threw two touchdown passes, a 3-yarder to Nathan Kreke and a
27-yarder to Devon O'Neal. Jabarey McDavid ran 2 yards for a
touchdown, and Bill Basenhoffer kicked field goals of 33 and 43 yards for the Panthers (2-1).
Romo completed 25 of 46 passes for 414 yards and was intercepted twice. Frank Cutolo
caught seven passes for 175 yards. McDavid rushed for 85 yards on 20
carries.
